Miha Debevec is the double absolute winner of the most prestigious Diatonic Accordion competition in Attimis, Italy. He also won many other impressive awards in Slovenia and abroad. The artist is regularly giving concerts for numerous respectable Slovene organizations such as National Olympic Committee, National Tourist Organization, Government PR, Media Office etc. He performs for Slovene Radio and Television as well as foreign television stations (CNN, 3sat).

Prior to the most recent CD he has released a cassette entitled Prvak harmonikar – Miha Debevec (Champion accordionist Miha Debevec) in 1994 and a CD Mladi virtuozi (Young virtuosos) in 1998. His last CD Diatonična harmonija with a band accompaniment was realesed in 2005. Miha Debevec combined Accordion with a Guitar and a Contrabass and that brought a unique performance of music not written for Diatonic Accordion.

Miha Debevec is young, enthusiastic accordionist combining traditional way of playing with modern approaches, contemporary music styles and classical repertoire. At present he had some performances with a wide response: two concerts in Manhattan, New York, USA, appearances at the European Comission in Brussels, Belgium, at International Tourist Exchange in Berlin, Germany, at the Europe Day in Stockholm, Sweden, and a concert in Cultural Center Al Husseini in Amman, Jordan. In Slovenia he appears on some festivals: Tango Festival in Idrija, Kunigunda, Velenje, Rock Otočec,… He recorded a video for a composition called Libertango by Astor Piazzola, which was several times chosen for the best video of the week on National Televison.

The performer achieves their unique musical expression by combining sensitive interpretation and skillful proficiency in playing accordion. Miha Debevec with diatonic accordion surpasses traditional accordion players - performers of folk music. He made a step forward to more profound and pretentious genres making accordion convey the most surprising and unusual musical expressions which is an exceptional contribution to the enrichment of Slovene musical culture. His opus includes arrangements of popular classical, pop and ethno music pieces from all over the world: France, Russia, Argentina, Macedonia, Serbia, Spain,…). At the end of this year they will finish recording a new CD.
